Malibu : City Council OKs Contracts
The Malibu City Council finally is working its way through the housekeeping that accompanies cityhood. Council members and outsiders alike had worried that some of these chores were neglected in the confusion over the city’s controversial moratorium on development.
Tuesday, members approved the first round of contracts for services with Los Angeles County, including five-year contracts for animal control services and general services. Members postponed voting on a contract for health services until next week. The county has refused to contract for road maintenance, forcing the city to ask for private bids.
Monday, council members will interview six finalists for the job of city manager, and Tuesday the council will hold a public hearing on the city’s first official budget.
