With respect to my letter to the editor regarding “The Disappearing Doctor” (May 5), I would like to correct any misimpression that my remarks conveyed with respect to the quality of medical care and treatment provided by the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic. The physicians and staff at this organization, and the care they provide, are of the highest quality. I deeply regret that my letter may have suggested otherwise.

In light of the fact that you found my prior comments worthy of publication and the fact that, upon reflection, I believe my comments may have cast aspersions upon the Santa Barbara Medical Foundation Clinic, I specifically request that you publish this letter.
