NOTES : High School All-Star Golf Tournament Is Today
Two players each from Estancia, Dana Hills and Huntington Beach high schools will lead the South team in the Orange County all-star golf tournament at 1:30 p.m. today at Newport Beach Country Club.
Ryan Davis and Tim Pieper of Estancia, Vern Edler and Brig Smart of Dana Hills and Grant Callaghan and Dave Shiwota of Huntington Beach make up three-fourths of the South team for the seniors-only event, sponsored in part by the Southern California PGA. Corona del Mar’s Steve Bemis and Newport Harbor’s Sunny Sarabia complete the team.
Dan Dalton and Blake Alban of Sunset League champion Marina lead the North team. Their teammates are Richard Son of Sunny Hills, Derek Clare of Canyon, Erik Wolf of El Dorado, Craig Black of Western, Jack Drey of Valencia and Jamon Nestor of Capistrano Valley.
University’s Mark Cunningham will coach the South, and Canyon’s Tim Owens will coach the North.
