Alhambra : Traffic Barrier on Almansor
The City Council decided unanimously Monday to limit traffic on Almansor Street by erecting a traffic barrier at the corner of Almansor and Huntington Drive.
The experimental barrier will be set up within about a month and will be in place for about six months, after which its effects will be evaluated. The barrier will only allow cars driving eastbound on Huntington Drive to enter Almansor. Cars crossing Huntington, mostly from El Molino Avenue, would be unable to enter.
Fifteen people spoke in favor of the barrier, which they said would improve their neighborhood.
Only one man spoke in opposition, saying the plan would divert traffic to his street.
