Margarine Labeling Agreement Reached: The Food and Drug Administration’s agreement with the National Assn. of Margarine Manufacturers calls for the companies to prominently display the fat content of products whose packages carry “no cholesterol” labels. Under the settlement, margarine manufacturers must remove “no cholesterol” labels--or move fat content information from the back or side of margarine and vegetable-oil-spread packages to the front, adjacent to the cholesterol labels.
