Shotputter Parlin Throws 66-8 in Illinois
Mark Parlin of Esperanza High School won the shotput Saturday at the Keebler Invitational in Elmhurst, Ill. He threw a career best of 66 feet 8 inches.
Parlin, who will attend UCLA in the fall, won the California State title June 1 with a throw of 61-5 1/2 at Cerritos College. The Keebler Invitational is a nationwide meet that includes many of the best high school athletes across the country.
