We May Have ‘Won,’ but Don’t Flaunt It

The thought of Americans cheering as Patriot missiles are going by makes me ill. Especially (because) millions of dollars are spent on these propaganda parades.

What amazes me is that the plan worked: Divert the American people with a patriotic environment, and all the other ills that affect the nation can just keep perpetuating silently.

People who think they’re being patriots by supporting all this nonsense are being misled. If they really loved this country, they would get off their couches and stop relying exclusively on television news for their information. They would read books and various periodicals and seek out all the other stories that the mainstream media ignore.

To be a patriot is to actively search for truth and to demand it from your leaders. It is to respect the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and not just stand by and cheer and say “rah rah” while our nation is being bought by corporations who sponsor military parades.
