PLATFORM : School Choice

The major deprivation of opportunities in this community is due to a lack of effective funds and investments directed toward youth and families. The Los Angeles Unified School District is very large and cutbacks are great. The teacher-student ratio is too high. Our children need more attention, more time and more concentration on their development than ever. Teachers, principals, administrators, counselors and aides all need to be more familiar with the child as an individual. Schools with enrollments of 2,000 and more cannot develop this.

A private school with small class size isn’t the only answer, but it’s a powerful one. You can better identify individual needs.

It’s obvious what has been deemed as acceptable has not been effective for the masses. It is time to be more creative because one way is not going to work for everybody. But there is one common thread that works everywhere: allowing a child to receive a total education, allowing a parent to really make a choice.
