California IN BRIEF : LAGUNA NIGUEL : Released Rapist Held in New Case

A Laguna Niguel man, convicted in 1985 for a series of “date rapes” involving four Newport Beach women, has been charged in a new case after a woman identified him as the man who raped her at gunpoint behind the Laguna Hills Mall. Paul William Jensen, 48, was arrested at Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said. He was being held without bail in the County Jail pending arraignment today. Jensen was recently released from parole after serving three years for the rape and sexual battery of four women he met in trendy Newport Beach bars or when they answered an ad he placed for a roommate.
