Covina : Shifts Alter to Cut Driving
Beginning Oct. 1, City Hall hours will be scaled back to comply with South Coast Air Quality Management District guidelines to reduce commuting.
The plan calls for full-time employees, during a two-week period, to work eight nine-hour days and one eight-hour day every other Friday. They would be off on alternate Fridays.
The new hours will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays, and 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays.
City Hall will be closed Fridays. The Parks and Recreation Department, 1250 N. Hollenbeck Ave., will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 5:30 p.m.
All departments are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
