Leroy Burrell, the world record-holder in the 100 meters, has been added to the field in the first showdown between Carl Lewis and Ben Johnson since the 1988 Olympics, meet officials in Paris announced. Burrell is reported to be receiving about $70,000, $30,000 more than he would have received for running the 200 in the July 1 meet.
