USC Names Love to Take Over Athletic Post Vacated by Hedges
Lisa Love, women’s volleyball coach at USC the past two years, has been named an associate athletic director at the university.
Love also will retain her coaching post, Athletic Director Mike McGee said Wednesday.
The associate’s job opened last month when Barbara Hedges left to become athletic director at Washington.
Love, 36, came to USC after seven seasons as coach at Texas Arlington. Her volleyball squads at USC have a 31-29 record--19-13 in 1989, when the Trojans earned a berth in the NCAA playoffs.
A four-year starter in volleyball at Texas Tech, Love received her bachelor’s degree there in 1978 and earned a master’s degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas in 1985.
