Former UCLA Standout Teltscher Named Pepperdine Tennis Coach
Eliot Teltscher, formerly ranked in the top 10 in international tennis, has been hired to coach the men’s tennis team at Pepperdine, the university announced Wednesday.
Teltscher, 32, succeeds Allen Fox. After 14 seasons as coach, Fox is stepping down to devote more time to his family and business interests. He will remain with the team as an assistant to Teltscher.
Teltscher, a former star at UCLA, won 10 tournaments on the men’s pro tennis tour and was a three-time member of the U.S. Davis Cup team.
The Waves had a dual match record of 22-3 this season and were ranked No. 7 nationally in the final coaches’ poll.
