BOOKS & AUTHORS : A Textbook for the Hungry Student
“College Quickies: Survival Cookbook” (Applezaba Press; $10.95) is a humorously illustrated cookbook offering 75 quick-to-fix economical recipes designed for busy college students.
Sandy Sieg, a longtime Laguna Beach resident and a mother of four, says the cookbook features recipes that use only three or four ingredients and that each recipe takes only about five minutes to prepare.
The book is the result of Sieg’s conversations with her daughters and their college friends and they discovery that cooking was a low priority for them. Sieg maintains, however, that college students want to eat well but that they lack the time, initiative and money to cook conventional meals.
The book is available in bookstores, and it may also be ordered from Applezaba Press, P.O. Box 4134-1007, Long Beach, Calif. 90804. Send $9.95 plus $2 for postage.
