Beverly Hills : Parcel Tax 133 Votes Short
The final count for the Beverly Hills Unified School District parcel tax vote confirmed the failure of the district’s third attempt to obtain an infusion of tax dollars.
The measure fell 133 votes short of the two-thirds majority it needed for approval. Of 8,179 people who voted in the June 4 municipal election, 5,265 voted for the measure and 2,831 voted against.
The tax would have brought $4.3 million annually to the school district through an assessment on parcels of land in the city ranging from $250 to $750.
