Council Looking to Fill Vacancy
The El Segundo City Council is considering 11 candidates to fill the unexpired term of former Councilman Jim Clutter, who resigned June 4 for health reasons.
Council members interviewed nine candidates this week but were unable to agree on an appointment. Clutter’s term ends in April.
Among the candidates are H.R. Anderson, a former councilman who withdrew from a 1990 reelection bid because of health problems, and Terry L. Cereto and Thomas Jolly, who were unsuccessful candidates in 1990.
Others vying for the seat are Stewart C. Aplin, Walter Lawrence Baynes III, Thomas E. Dickten, Robert S. Hawkins, Blake Mitchell, Michael D. Robbins, John VanHook Jr. and Frank Wong.
