Baker Canyon Does Not Need Airport
We oppose the proposed airport at the Baker Canyon site. We moved to Canyon Country to get away from airports, malls, tall buildings and congestion.
There are now plenty of airports to handle the decreasing small-plane traffic. We don’t need the added dust, pollution and noise in our community. And with the high winds in our area, safety is a major concern.
After knowing about the airport proposal for less than one week, more than 150 concerned citizens turned out for an informal meeting at the Pinetree School. We are organizing a petition to strongly voice our opposition to an airport in our area.
Let me assure you that this community will do everything possible to stop the airport from becoming a reality, just as we stopped the dump several years ago. Contrary to some newspaper articles, there is strong opposition to an airport being built in this area.
