A woman bank robber dubbed the “Speed Queen” struck for the fifth time Wednesday, San Diego police said.

The woman with long, brownish-red hair pulled back in a ponytail approached a teller at the Wells Fargo branch at 4315 La Jolla Village Drive about 5:30 p.m., police spokesman Bill Robinson said Thursday.

As with each of the previous robberies--three of them in one day--Robinson said the robber presented a demand note that read, “Don’t (expletive deleted) up. You have only two seconds to give me your money, three seconds, and I’ll blow your head off.”

Robinson said the woman has been dubbed the Speen Queen because of how fast she commits the robberies.

The first holdup was committed April 25 at the Wells Fargo branch at 4280 Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The other three were on June 5: at a Home Federal Bank branch at 8410 Genesee Avenue; at Wells Fargo Bank, 2751 Via de la Valle, and again at Wells Fargo, 14815 Pomerado Road, Poway.

The woman is described as white, in her 30s, about 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6, 120 to 130 pounds and medium build, Robinson said.

All of the robberies occurred in the afternoon and north of Interstate 8, he said. The woman says in a note that she is armed, but no weapon has been seen and she escapes on foot.
