Remote Area Searched for Missing Man, 75
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies searched a remote area of the San Bernardino Mountains on Friday for a 75-year-old Lancaster man who disappeared more than two weeks ago on his way to visit his daughter in Alhambra. His car was found in the area Thursday.
Joseph Bone was last seen June 3. He left his home at 1 p.m. and called home about 5 to say he was experiencing car trouble but would continue on to Alhambra, Deputy Rich Erickson said.
Deputies found Bone’s car, a red 1985 Dodge Aries, on a remote road near Highway 138 in the Lake Silverwood area of the San Bernardino National Forest, Erickson said.
Bone, who was reported to be in good health, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds, and has gray hair and blue eyes, Erickson said. He has a pacemaker and wears a hearing aid and glasses. He was wearing a khaki long-sleeve shirt, khaki pants and a blue baseball cap when last seen.
