YORBA LINDA : Cable TV Firm Gets 10-Year Service Pact
The City Council has unanimously renewed a 10-year agreement with Empire Cable Television to provide the city with cable television service.
Also this week, council members approved transferring ownership of the cable company from Empire to Jones Spacelink Ltd., a Colorado-based company that has 1.3 million subscribers nationally. Empire has served the city since 1978.
Part of the renewal agreement calls for a studio to be built at City Hall that will make it possible to broadcast City Council meetings live. Empire started broadcasting council meetings in February on the city’s cable channel.
