2 Suspects Arrested in Slaying at Park
HUNTINGTON BEACH — Police have arrested two suspects in the shooting death of a young man in a city park last weekend.
Officers said Nhat Minh Huynh, 18, of Garden Grove and Thuy Vinh Tran, 19, of Westminster surrendered at the Huntington Beach Police Department on Friday night. Both were arrested on suspicion of murder.
Earlier Friday, police said, two revolvers were found in Central Park near where 19-year-old Phu Khong Nguyen’s body was found. Lt. Ed McErlain said the victim and the other men apparently went to the park shortly after midnight and an argument broke out, followed by gunfire.
An unidentified man called and showed police where the body was in the park. Police would not say how many times the victim was shot, and they would not be specific about where the body was found.
