Laguna Audubon had a definite cachet when Kathryn Thompson Development Co. named the subdivision a few years back. The problem was, it was in the planned community of Aliso Viejo, and livid home buyers sued for $5 million, alleging false advertising. . . . They later settled, and the name remains.
