Lieberthal Named to All-Star Team in Class-A South Atlantic League
Former Westlake High catcher Mike Lieberthal has been selected to play for the Northern Division in the Class-A South Atlantic League all-star game in Savannah, Ga., on Monday.
Lieberthal, 19, who was selected third overall in last year’s amateur baseball draft, was leading the Spartanburg (S.C.) Phillies with a .296 batting average and 15 doubles last week.
Oak Park High will sponsor a fitness camp Monday through Aug. 2 for athletes aged 8-14. The camp will be held at the school from 8 a.m. to noon.
