ANAHEIM : Free Meals Available to Children at 4 Sites
Youths under 19 years of age will be able to get free breakfasts and lunches at four city sites today under a federally funded program operated by the Anaheim Union High School District.
Children will be fed on a first-come, first-served basis, and they do not need to live in Anaheim or be enrolled in a city school district to receive a meal.
The food, prepared at school cafeterias, will be distributed at Audre Plaza, Ponderosa Park, Dale Junior High School and Sycamore Junior High School. No breakfasts or lunches may be taken away from the sites.
Enough federal funds are available to provide 1,400 breakfasts and 2,500 lunches. The program will run every weekday, except on July 4. District trustees approved the program at their meeting early last week.
