Japan Phone Company to Use Tekelec Equipment
Tekelec, a Calabasas maker of telecommunications testing products, said Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp. in Japan has chosen Tekelec’s equipment for testing a proposed NTT telecommunications system. Terms of the contract were not released, however.
NTT, Japan’s largest telephone company, plans to deploy a so-called integrated service digital network (ISDN) that enables voice signals, data and images to be transmitted over the same telephone line. Similar systems are being set up in selected regions of the United States and other countries.
