Simon B. Siegel; Veteran of Broadcast Industry
Simon B. Siegel, 85, who began with the American Broadcasting Co. in its infancy and rose to become a member of its board of directors. He began his career in broadcasting in 1929 as a $30-a-week auditor for Paramount Publix Corp., which merged with ABC in 1953. He became treasurer of American Broadcasting-Paramount Theatres Inc. and then financial vice president and treasurer of the corporation. In 1967, he helped negotiate the merger of ABC Co. Inc. and International Telephone & Telegraph Corp. In New York City on Sunday of cancer.
