SURF DANGER: The first official weekend of summer ended with a drowning (B2), but county lifeguards have already plunged into their inevitable surge of rescues. . . . Last summer, just under 7,000 people were fished from five of the county’s busiest beaches (above), and lifeguards say rip currents are to blame for most of those rescues.
