RTD Extends Bus Line to Leo Carrillo Beach
The Southern California Rapid Transit District has extended Line 434 to serve Leo Carrillo State Beach Park on Pacific Coast Highway north of Malibu. Service on this route extension is funded by the County of Los Angeles and will operate daily at various times from the West Los Angeles Transit Center at Fairfax Avenue and Apple Street via the Santa Monica Freeway to Santa Monica, Malibu, Zuma and Leo Carrillo beaches, through Sept. 8.
Intended to accommodate the increased demand for service to the beach during the summer months, Line 434 will run every 30 minutes to Leo Carrillo Beach from 2nd Street and Broadway in Santa Monica beginning at 6:16 a.m. on weekdays, 6:50 a.m. on Saturdays and 6:53 a.m. on Sundays. The last trip will leave Leo Carrillo Beach at 9 p.m. every day.
Short surfboards are allowed on buses, as long as they do not interfere with other passengers. For schedules and more information, call (213) 626-4455 from 6 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. daily.
