OAK PARK : County to Consider Study on Cityhood
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors will consider Tuesday whether to fund a study to see if Oak Park should become a city.
At the request of the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council and Supervisor Maria VanderKolk, the board will consider a study on whether incorporation is economically feasible for the community of about 10,400 people.
The preliminary study would determine whether the community could generate enough revenue to pay for its own municipal services.
If the study concludes that no economic barrier stands in the way of the community incorporating, Oak Park’s advisory council could then ask the county to approve a more detailed study.
