Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins Four-Lap Main

COSTA MESA —  Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.

Josh Larsen of Costa Mesa was second, Shawn McConnell of Brea third and Phil Collins of Costa Mesa fourth. Schwartz took the lead at the start and led the rest of the way.

Collins won the eight-lap handicap main event. McConnell was second, Bill Gray of Topanga third, Doug Bowers of Bellflower fourth and Larsen fifth.
