Newport Corp. Acquires Units of Micro-Controle
FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Newport Corp., a maker of precision instruments for scientists and engineers, said Monday that it has completed the purchase of the non-French subsidiaries of Micro-Controle S.A.
The acquisition includes U.S.-based Klinger Scientific Corp.
The deal, first announced in March, is the first step in the acquisition of Micro-Controle’s industrial precision instruments business.
The second step, the acquisition of the firm’s European units, is expected to be completed within two months.
