Smokers Included Out: There were so few smokers lighting up in MainPlace/Santa Ana’s International Food Court that the mall’s management went ahead and banned smoking altogether.
A survey found that, on average, only six smokers could be found in the food court in the period from noon to 1:45 p.m., when the area is busiest.
“The number of smokers is incredibly low when one considers that the food court serves up 5,800 orders each weekday,” said General Manager Tanya Thomas.
The no-smoking signs go up this week.
