Azusa : New Rules for Loud Parties
Loud parties would have to break up after a single police warning or hosts would be responsible for all law enforcement costs associated with dispersing the revelers, under an ordinance tentatively approved Monday.
The proposed ordinance, unanimously approved by the City Council, would require those responsible for unruly parties to pay all police costs, including the hourly wage of officers and the cost of billing and collecting the fees.
Under current law, hosts can be fined only if police make two or more trips to the party, Police Chief Byron Nelson said.
A final decision on the ordinance is scheduled for July 15.
