La Verne : Reduced Budget Adopted
The City Council on Monday adopted a combined city/Redevelopment Agency budget of $26.2 million, down from $26.9 million last year.
The city’s budget for fiscal year 1991-92, which began Monday, is $24.5 million, compared to about $25.2 million in 1990-91. The Redevelopment Agency budget is $1.8 million, about the same as last year.
The budget includes funding for more police officers and firefighters, and additional emergency equipment. However, Finance Officer Ron Clark said the completion of street improvements last year has resulted in an overall lower budget.
