Harriman Jones Clinic Joins Hospital’s Parent Co.
Long Beach Community Hospital and the Harriman Jones Medical Clinic made their three-year relationship formal when Harriman Jones recently joined the hospital’s parent company, Unihealth America, which is based in Burbank.
“This will not affect Harriman Jones patients at all,” said Janet Parodi, hospital president.
Dr. Harriman Jones started his clinic and hospital in 1930 at the corner of Cherry Avenue and Broadway. It operated as an independent clinic for 35 years, until closing its doors in 1965.
Harriman Jones’ doctors then regrouped at a new building at Redondo Avenue and Willow Street, and many selected Long Beach Community Hospital to meet their hospital needs. Harriman Jones Medical Clinic now has 72 physicians on staff and cares for approximately 65,000 patients.
