SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO : City Appoints New Planning Director
Thomas Tomlinson, a 17-year employee of the city of San Juan Capistrano, has been named the city’s director of planning.
Tomlinson, 44, a San Juan Capistrano resident, has been serving as the city’s acting director of planning since March, when former director Thomas G. Merrell retired.
Tomlinson has also served as the city’s manager of environmental and advanced planning. He began working for the city “right at the bottom, as a planning aide.”
“When I started work here, I always thought that in order to move up and meet career goals it would require moving to another city,” Tomlinson said. “I’ve just been extremely fortunate.”
