Library’s Research Service Gets Award
The Los Angeles County Public Library has received an award from the National Assn. of Counties for its new fee-based research and document delivery service called FYI, located at the Norwalk Regional Library, 12350 Imperial Highway.
The award is given annually in recognition of significant and innovative activities that improve and enhance service to member counties. FYI was designed to meet the research needs of businesses, government agencies and professionals who often lack the time to do labor-intensive research. The county library is the first public library in California to offer such a service.
FYI opened at the Norwalk Regional Library in July, 1989. It was established as part of the Library’s Business Subject Specialty Center. Resources available to the center include the Business Subject Specialty Collection with particular strengths in market, industry and company information and trade periodicals and directories.
The nationwide toll-free telephone number is (800) 582-1093.
