CAMARILLO : Council, Planners to Update City Report
The Camarillo City Council and its Planning Commission will hold a joint meeting Tuesday to update an economic report on the city.
Officials will review the “Citywide Economic Development and Retail Strategy Report,” which pinpoints the economic strengths and weaknesses of the city’s retail sector. The report analyzes sales in Camarillo compared to those in nearby communities.
The city’s restaurants, grocery and convenience stores are prospering, but not retail stores selling big-ticket items such as automobiles and appliances, said Larry Davis, assistant city manager.
The report, prepared for the city in 1990 by Economic Research Associates, will be updated with more recent statistics at Tuesday’s meeting.
The joint meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Camarillo City Council chambers and be televised on the city’s cable television channel.
