David L. Ferguson has been named director of flight operations for Lockheed Advanced Development Co., known as the “Skunk Works,” in Burbank.
Ferguson most recently served as chief test pilot for the F-22 Advanced Tactical Fighter program. He joined Lockheed in 1979 and became the second pilot ever to fly the F-117 Stealth Fighter.
Ferguson succeeds H.C. (Hal) Farley, who retires this month. Farley was the first man to fly the F-117 and logged more than 600 hours on the fighter.
