New Makaha Will Manufacture, Design Surfwear for Other Firms
A group of investors led by veteran surfwear executive Dennis Donsker has created a new publicly traded company, Makaha Inc., that will both design and manufacture apparel for other companies while introducing its own label.
Makaha, headquartered in Costa Mesa, was created in a stock swap with the Ross Anderson Group Inc., a one-time securities firm that had gone out of business. The Donsker-led investment group obtained Ross Anderson for an undisclosed amount and renamed the new corporate entity Makaha, after a Hawaiian beach known for its surfing.
Donsker previously was president of Worldwide Apparel Resource Group in Costa Mesa, which designed and marketed surfwear for other companies. Worldwide will be a division of Makaha.
