Japanese Charged With Dumping Displays: The Commerce Department, largely reaffirming an earlier finding, ruled that a group of Japanese companies were illegally selling flat panel display products in the United States at prices below the cost of production--a practice known as dumping. But the ruling, which came in response to a complaint by a group of small U.S. companies called the Advanced Display Manufacturers of America, will have only a minor impact on consumer prices, because the Commerce Department found that Sharp underpriced its displays by just 4.6% and Toshiba and Matsushita by less than 1%.
