Home Warranty Firm Can Sell Coverage in Nevada
First American Home Buyers Protection Corp., a Van Nuys company that sells warranty coverage for previously owned homes in California, said it has been authorized by the Nevada Department of Insurance to market its home-protection plan in Nevada.
Home-warranty contracts generally cover non-structural parts of previously owned houses, such as plumbing and electrical and heating systems, for one year after they are sold.
First American Home Buyers Protection, a subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Co., said its move into Nevada is part of an overall plan to upgrade its warranty coverage operations and expand geographically.
