Mowatt Is Released by Patriots

Tight end Zeke Mowatt, who was one of three players accused of sexually harassing sportswriter Lisa Olson in a locker room Sept. 17, was waived by the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Olson filed suit in April against Mowatt, Patroit owner Victor Kiam, former general manager Patrick Sullivan, former media services director James Oldham and two other players, Michael Timpson and Robert Perryman, involved in the incident.

An independent investigation by the NFL found that Mowatt participated in the incident and fined him $12,500. Olson claimed Mowatt never paid the fine.

Mowatt played seven seasons in the NFL and was on the New York Giants when they won the Super Bowl after the 1986 season.
