Remote Parking Sites Available for Concerts
Three concerts are planned at the Pacific Amphitheatre during the run of the Orange County Fair--Gloria Estefan on July 19, Joe Cocker on July 23, Guns N’ Roses on July 25 --and city officials anticipate especially heavy traffic and parking problems as a result. Concert-goers who wish to avoid the main crush can park at several remote sites:
* Office complex, 1970 Main St., Irvine. One thousand parking spots will be available for the Estefan and Guns N’ Roses shows. A shuttle will begin carrying passengers to the amphitheater at 5:30 p.m. and will return to the lot after the show. Parking is free; round-trip shuttle tickets are $1 per person, available in advance through Ticketmaster.
* Automobile Club of Southern California processing center, Fairview and South Coast roads, Costa Mesa. Free parking and shuttle will be available from 6:30 p.m. to midnight for the Estefan and Cocker shows.
The following sites will be available for all three concerts:
* Costa Mesa High School, 2650 Fairview Road. Parking is $3; a round-trip shuttle to the concert is free.
* Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road. Parking and the shuttle are free.
Amphitheater officials further recommend avoiding the Fairview off-ramp from the San Diego Freeway if possible, taking the Harbor Boulevard off-ramp instead or approaching the amphitheater from the Costa Mesa Freeway.
