Hammer Museum Ruling Affirmed: The Delaware Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling against dissident Occidental Petroleum Corp. shareholders who had challenged the legality of company decisions to build and endow the Armand Hammer Museum of Art and Cultural Center. The controversial museum, which opened in Westwood last year, houses an art collection assembled by the late Occidental chairman. The Delaware Supreme Court action endorsed a settlement of the litigation that limited the amount of money that Occidental could spend on the museum. It also imposed other controls on the company’s relationship with the art center.
