San Dimas : Senior Center Site Funds
The City Council on Tuesday approved a $1.39-million allocation to buy a county building for the city’s new senior citizen center.
City Manager Robert L. Poff said staff members met with county representatives last week and agreed on the price. He said he will send a letter to the county this week with an official offer. It may take up to three months to acquire the property, which is located next to City Hall, Poff said. He added that a target date for opening a new center has not been set.
Poff estimated that improvements to the building would cost about $500,000. The existing senior center, which Poff said is too small, is in the old Santa Fe Depot on Bonita and Monte Vista avenues.
