HUNTINGTON BEACH : Continuation School Named Valley Vista

The Huntington Beach Union High School District Board of Trustees has chosen a name for the district’s new continuation school.

The Valley Vista Continuation High School is being built on land next to Fountain Valley High School and is scheduled to open in January, 1992.

During the past school year, the continuation school, a special education guidance center and an adult school have all been at Wintersburg High School, on the corner of Golden West Street and Warner Avenue.

But Wintersburg is being closed because its site, next to Ocean View High School, is being leased to a developer, who plans to build condominiums and a shopping center.

This fall, the special education guidance center is being moved to Edison High School, and the adult school will be at Park View School, a closed elementary site that the high school district is leasing from the Ocean View School District.

Until the continuation high school is complete, its students will attend classes at the Wintersburg site.
