2 Buena Park Men Held in Market Robbery
WESTMINSTER — Two 19-year-old Buena Park men led police on a brief chase Wednesday morning before they were arrested as suspects in the robbery of a supermarket, police said.
About 3 a.m., two men walked into a Lucky market at 13071 Garden Grove Blvd., pointed pistols at a clerk and demanded money, Westminster Police Lt. Bob Burnette said.
The suspects fled with $300 and headed west on Garden Grove Boulevard in a silver Toyota, he said.
“An officer heard the broadcast (of the robbery), saw the vehicle and headed after it,” Burnette said. “The vehicle refused to yield.”
Burnette said police followed the car, which got on the Orange Freeway and then the Santa Ana Freeway before being stopped.
At one point, the car was traveling at least 85 m.p.h., Burnette said.
Arrested on suspicion of armed robbery were Malcolm King and Lee Tshombhi, police said.
