*** David Byrne, “The Forest,” Luaka Bop/Warner Bros. Byrne does Berlioz in this mainly orchestral, sometimes floridly Romantic piece. His stated aim is to sift the Industrial Revolution for Jungian revelations, or something like that. No such coherent program congeals, but “The Forest” takes a zig-zagging, interest-sustaining tour through exotic, sacred settings, ranging from an Andean peak to a pagan Temple of Doom.
