On the EDJ: The new Fox syndicated entertainment news program “Entertainment Daily Journal” (or EDJ) made an inauspicious debut Monday on KTTV Channel 11, finishing next to last in the ratings among the seven Los Angeles VHF stations at 11 p.m. The premiere edition of “EDJ”--which focused heavily on the much-publicized violence at movie theaters showing “Boyz N the Hood”--was seen by only 5% of those watching television at that hour in about 115,000 of the area’s 5 million TV households. Reruns of “Cheers” on Channel 5 and news on Channel 4 had about three times the audience.
